Meet the Doctors
Zachary Badanes
DVM, DACVOOphthalmology
Dr. Badanes attended veterinary school at Cornell University and returned there for a residency in ophthalmology, after completing his rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania. He enjoys a variety of surgeries, with a special interest in corneal disease and cataract surgery.

Dr. Badanes earned his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from SUNY Cortland, where he played baseball. He then attended veterinary school at Cornell University and returned there for a residency in ophthalmology, after completing his rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Badanes enjoys a variety of surgeries, with a special interest in corneal disease and cataract surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Badanes enjoys spending time hiking outdoors with his wife Sage and Great Dane, Pongo.
Stacy Santoro Binstock
DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)Oncology
Dr. Binstock’s special interests include lymphoma/relapse therapy, mast cell tumors, molecular and minimally invasive diagnostics, acupuncture and holistic therapy, oral cancer, and advanced imaging of tumors. She strives to offer the best possible care for each client by customizing a specific treatment plan to fit the needs of the owner and pet.
Stacy Santoro Binstock

Oncology
Dr. Stacy Santoro Binstock is a New Jersey native. She completed her undergraduate degree in animal science at Rutgers University in 1997 and continued on to earn her veterinary degree from Iowa State University in 2002. Following veterinary school, Dr. Binstock returned to New Jersey to complete a rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. She moved back to the Midwest to begin an oncology residency at Kansas State University and finished the training at the University of Wisconsin in 2007. After working at several specialty referral hospitals along the east coast, she now calls LVS and the Philadelphia suburbs home.
Dr. Binstock’s special interests include lymphoma/relapse therapy, mast cell tumors, molecular and minimally invasive diagnostics, acupuncture and holistic therapy, oral cancer, and advanced imaging of tumors. She strives to offer the best possible care for each client by customizing a specific treatment plan to fit the needs of the owner and pet, along with providing the education and emotional support needed to go through the journey together. She also works closely with primary care veterinarians to create a comprehensive care plan and support system. In her spare time, Dr. Binstock enjoys spending time with her husband and children, cooking, reading, outdoor activities, and exploring farmers markets and festivals. Her first “child” is a Chihuahua mix named Luigi.
Julie Compton

Dr. Compton is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has over 15 years of experience. She believes in providing the personalized surgical expertise and experience owners expect, and their beloved family pets deserve.

Dr. Julie Compton, graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, continued her education by completing a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. Dr. Compton finished a surgical internship in 2002 in Texas and was accepted into a 4-year residency program at the University of Missouri. There, she completed a Master's degree in Arthrology and achieved Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Residing in western Pennsylvania, Dr. Compton has worked in a referral private practice for over 15 years. She was the president of the WPVMA for 2 years, helping to bring the local veterinarians together to provide meaningful continuing education. She has successfully trained multiple rotating interns, surgical interns, and surgical residents during her time in private practice.
Dr. Compton has expertise in all aspects of surgery, including soft tissue, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. She enjoys perineal hernias, urogenital surgeries, TPLOs, patella repairs, and fracture repairs, to name a few. She encourages veterinarians to reach out to her to ask questions and nurture a team approach for mutual patients.
Dr. Compton enjoys spending her spare time with her family, 4 children, 3 dogs, and 3 cats. She loves to watch her daughter play softball, watch her son run cross country, and experience the outdoors. Her goal at this point in her career is to work together with clients and their primary veterinarians to provide the personalized surgical expertise and experience owners expect, and their beloved family pets deserve.
Jonathan Goodwin

Dr. Goodwin is a native of Detroit, MI. He graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary medicine and completed his cardiology residency at Purdue University. Dr. Goodwin specializes in helping families combat cardiovascular disease in their four-legged family members.

Matthew Paek

Lancaster Veterinary Specialties has partnered with Dr. Paek of Synergy VIP to provide real-time board-certified radiology interpretations of our CT studies. Dr. Matthew Paek has earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University. He then went on to earn his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After completing a one-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at a large private practice in New Jersey, he returned to the University of Pennsylvania for a three-year residency and completed his board certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology.
He enjoys all aspects of diagnostic imaging including radiology, contrast studies, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). His clinical areas of interest are advanced imaging of musculoskeletal injuries, central nervous system disorders, and oncological conditions. He has authored numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters, and regularly gives lectures at regional and national continuing education conferences.
In his spare time, Dr. Paek enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, watching Philadelphia sports teams, and grilling on his Big Green Egg.
Damon B. Rodriguez

Dr. Rodriguez received a bachelor degree from Cornell University in mathematics in 1993 and his doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Florida in 1997. Dr. Rodriguez received a bachelor degree from Cornell University in mathematics in 1993 and his doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Florida in 1997. Dr. Rodriguez headed back north to Boston where he completed a one-year internship in medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. After 2 years in general practice he completed a three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at Mississippi State University and became board certified in small animal internal medicine in 2003. Dr. Rodriguez practiced at two large referral practices in Cincinnati and Philadelphia until he formed his own specialty group in Lancaster in 2012. Lancaster Veterinary Specialties (LVS) now serves as the only full-service specialist owned referral practice in Lancaster and surrounding counties west of Lancaster.
Dr. Rodriguez feels very fortunate to have the privilege of being surrounded by an incredible group of specialists and veterinary nurses that serve the community with passion, love, and a family mentality. Dr. Rodriguez and LVS treat every referred person and pet as if they are part of our own family.
Dr. Rodriguez’s interests within the discipline of internal medicine are broad and include endocrinology, hematology, oncology, cardiology, and infectious disease. He has published articles in several professional journals and has given talks at both the local and national levels. Dr. Rodriguez performs numerous specialized procedures which include but are not limited to gastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography, contrast radiographic studies, PEG tube placement, ultrasound guided biopsies, and bone marrow aspirates/biopsies.
When not serving clients and patients, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending as much time as possible with his three children.
